BEAVER LAKE UPDATE AND TIPS

Here are some gate tips to make your experience with the gate easier.

First, it's best to have remotes for all adult drivers in your immediate family. The remotes will over- ride most system lockdown's (like when someone punches in an inaccurate code to many times) and open the gates.

The first remote for a new resident is free, then extra's are $40 a piece and can be purchased through Appleton Properties at 503-684-1502.

Second, be sure you get your personal code for immediate family and friends. This code won't change very often, unless it falls into the wrong hands. It allows 24 hour a day/ 7 day a week access. DON'T give it to delivery personal etc, instead give the code listed in the newsletter (as it only works 7am to 7pm. NOTE: all routine delivery personnel like UPS, DSL and FED EX should be encouraged to use their own, assigned company codes, which will prevent problems of entrance, when the listed code is changed in the future.

Third, please check that you are in the gate menu box correctly and TEST IT! Someone coming to the gate can scroll the menu/punch in # until they reach your name and then they punch in the code that is listed, (this code does not have to be anything special as it only works within the menu, so lot numbers with zero's work fine) Just be sure your personal code is NOT listed in the phone menu. Double check that it really rings your house (not someone else's) and that NW Community Management has your current phone number for this menu on file.

Fourth, get a separate code for any construction people, etc., coming to your house that can be deleted when their work is done. You also could have the hours of this code restricted so they do not have night time or even weekend access, if you so chose. Just be sure to let Appleton Properties know these specifics.

Lastly, it is a good idea to periodically check your manual codes, phone call up, etc., to be sure they are continuing to work as planned.

The Gate Committee has set up an e-mail for all of you to send any comments/observations/suggestions about gate operation to, so we can try and troubleshoot any problems. That e-mail is bvrlakegate@yahoo.com. Please do not send in gate code requests, etc, those go to Appleton Properties at:

Battery Backup has been ordered for both East and West side gates, and should be installed in the near future to help prevent inconveniences in the event of a power failure.
